Mark Chapman

Mark Chapman is a left-handed batter whose T20 game is built around excellent play against spin, fast hands and the ability to score in unconventional areas. He is most often used through the middle order, where his sweep options, footwork and clean hitting make him particularly effective when the field is spread.

Chapman has the unusual distinction of representing both Hong Kong and New Zealand in international cricket and has built considerable T20I experience over the course of his career. He has also played in domestic and franchise competitions, developing into a batter who is comfortable entering in a range of match situations.

His ability to maintain momentum against spin is especially valuable in T20 cricket, where middle-over scoring can decide the shape of an innings. Chapman can rebuild after early wickets or accelerate immediately, and his occasional left-arm spin provides an additional option when conditions or matchups are favourable.
