Matthew Humphreys

Matthew Humphreys is a slow left-arm orthodox spinner who has developed into one of Ireland's leading young spin options. He bowls with control, changes his pace intelligently and is willing to attack the stumps, qualities that can make him difficult to line up in T20 cricket.

Humphreys has represented Ireland across formats and has gained valuable experience through the domestic Inter-Provincial competitions. His progression into the senior side has exposed him to stronger batting lineups and helped him develop the confidence required to bowl in attacking situations.

In T20 cricket, his left-arm angle is especially useful against right-handed batters and can also be deployed to create favourable matchups against left-handers. If conditions offer even slight assistance, Humphreys has the accuracy and variation to control the middle overs while remaining a wicket-taking threat.
