Benjamin Calitz

Benjamin Calitz is a left-handed wicketkeeper-batter who brings aggressive intent and boundary-hitting potential to Ireland's T20 middle order. He is comfortable taking on pace from the outset and has shown the ability to score quickly in short bursts, a valuable quality when entering during the second half of an innings.

Canadian-born Calitz previously represented Canada at Under-19 level before qualifying for Ireland and making his T20I debut in 2025. He was part of Ireland's 2026 T20 World Cup squad and later produced useful attacking contributions in the home series against India, strengthening his place in the senior setup.

His left-handedness gives Ireland matchup flexibility in the batting order, while his wicketkeeping adds another layer of squad value. Calitz is best suited to a positive role where he can put pressure on bowlers early, but he also has the technique to build longer innings when circumstances require.
