David Willey

David Willey is an experienced English all-rounder renowned for his left-arm fast-medium bowling and aggressive left-handed batting. Born on 28 February 1990 in Northampton, Willey first gained widespread attention with his performances in English domestic cricket, including a memorable all-round display in the 2013 domestic T20 final. He made his international debut for England in 2015 and quickly became a regular member of the country's white-ball setup, particularly because of his ability to swing the new ball and provide useful runs in the lower order.

Willey's greatest strength has been his ability to generate movement with the new ball, making him particularly dangerous during the opening overs of limited-overs matches. He played an important role in England's run to the final of the 2016 T20 World Cup, taking 3/20 against West Indies in the title match. Alongside his bowling, Willey's clean ball-striking has made him a useful all-round option, and his versatility has seen him feature extensively in domestic and franchise T20 competitions around the world.

Willey announced his retirement from international cricket during the 2023 ODI World Cup, bringing an eight-year England career to an end after reaching 100 ODI wickets in his final international appearance.
