Vijay Shankar

Vijay Shankar is a right-handed batting all-rounder who offers middle-order stability along with useful right-arm medium pace. In T20 cricket his batting is most effective when he can use his strong base to hit straight and through the leg side, while his bowling provides an additional option when conditions favour seam.

Shankar has represented India internationally and has spent many seasons in the IPL, gaining experience in a variety of batting positions. His career has required him to switch between anchoring, finishing and support roles, giving him a broad understanding of the tactical demands of the shortest format.

His main value lies in balance. Shankar can lengthen the batting order without removing a seam option, and he is capable of playing either a stabilising innings or a more aggressive late-order role depending on the match situation.
