Reuben Wilson
Reuben Wilson is a promising Irish fast bowler who has progressed rapidly through the country's youth and domestic cricket system. Born on 17 September 2006, the right-arm seamer represented Ireland at multiple ICC Under-19 World Cups, first appearing at the tournament as a 15-year-old in 2022. His continued development saw him become vice-captain of Ireland's squad for the 2026 Under-19 World Cup, where he was one of the team's most experienced young players.
Wilson made an early impression in senior domestic cricket with Leinster Lightning, including a five-wicket haul of 5/42 in just his second List A appearance in 2023. His ability to move the ball and challenge batters with an attacking approach established him as one of Ireland's leading young pace prospects. Strong domestic performances and his showing at the 2026 Under-19 World Cup were subsequently rewarded when he received his first Cricket Ireland central contract for the 2026-27 season.
Wilson's rise continued when he was selected for Ireland's historic first Test against New Zealand at Stormont in May 2026, where he made his senior international debut. Soon afterwards, he was included in Ireland's T20I squad for the series against India, demonstrating how quickly he had moved into the senior national setup. Still at the beginning of his international career, Wilson's pace, experience at youth level and growing exposure to senior cricket make him an exciting part of Ireland's next generation of fast bowlers.
