Roelof van der Merwe

Roelof van der Merwe is a vastly experienced spin-bowling all-rounder known for relentless competitiveness, energetic fielding and aggressive left-arm orthodox bowling. He bowls quickly through the air, attacks the stumps and is comfortable operating when batters are trying to force the pace.

Van der Merwe represented South Africa earlier in his career before becoming a key player for the Netherlands and has appeared in multiple T20 World Cups. His franchise and county career spans numerous competitions, giving him an exceptional amount of short-format experience.

With the bat he is capable of powerful lower-order hitting, while his fielding can change games on its own. That combination of spin, batting depth, experience and intensity makes him an unusually complete T20 contributor even late in his career.
