Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell is a right-handed middle-order batter and occasional right-arm medium-fast bowler who remains an experienced member of the West Indies’ T20I setup. The Jamaican has been selected for the five-match T20I series against India, with Shai Hope taking over as captain. Powell has extensive experience in international and franchise cricket, having represented West Indies across white-ball formats and featured in competitions including the IPL and CPL. His ability to strike the ball cleanly in the middle and death overs makes him a valuable option when the West Indies need to accelerate the scoring rate.

Powell is at his most dangerous when he can attack from the outset, using his power to target pace and clear the boundary against spin. His medium pace provides an additional bowling option, while his athleticism in the field adds another way for him to influence a match. He also brings considerable leadership experience, having previously captained the West Indies T20I side and led Jamaica Tallawahs to a CPL title. With the India T20Is beginning in Lucknow on October 6 and the final match scheduled in Bengaluru on October 17, Powell will be looking to make his experience count against a strong Indian side. For fantasy cricket, his middle-order power-hitting, occasional bowling and fielding ability give him several avenues to contribute points.
