Shimron Hetmyer

Shimron Hetmyer is a left-handed middle-order batter renowned for his aggressive strokeplay and ability to change the momentum of a game in a short period. The Guyanese batter has been an important part of the West Indies’ limited-overs setup and has been included in the squad for the five-match T20I series against India. Hetmyer comes into the series after an outstanding Caribbean T20 league campaign, where he amassed 367 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 197.31, including two centuries. He also made a strong contribution during the 2026 T20 World Cup, underlining his ability to perform on the international stage.

Hetmyer is particularly dangerous once he gets his eye in, with powerful hitting against both pace and spin making him a valuable middle-order option. His recent ODI appearances against New Zealand also showed that he can adapt his attacking game to the longer format, with an unbeaten 69 helping West Indies seal victory in the final match. Having crossed 7,000 T20 runs during his recent Caribbean campaign, he brings considerable experience into the T20I series, which begins in Lucknow on October 6. For fantasy cricket, Hetmyer’s ability to score rapidly and clear the boundaries regularly gives him significant upside, especially when he gets enough deliveries to settle into an innings.
