India tour of New Zealand ODI Series, 2026

India and New Zealand will continue their multi-format contest with a five-match ODI series beginning on 4 November 2026 at Eden Park in Auckland. The series then moves to Wellington on 7 November and Hamilton on 10 November before concluding with back-to-back matches at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, on 13 and 15 November. The ODIs follow the five-match T20I series and form the second leg of India's extensive tour of New Zealand, with a two-match Test series scheduled to follow later in November.

India enter the series with a squad featuring an experienced batting core of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul alongside several emerging players. Gill will captain India for the opening three matches, with Iyer serving as vice-captain, before Iyer takes over the captaincy for the final two ODIs and Ishan Kishan becomes vice-captain. India's bowling options include Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Anshul Kamboj, Gurnoor Brar and Auqib Nabi, while Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury. Nitish Kumar Reddy is available only for the opening ODI before joining India A in preparation for the Test series.

New Zealand will be led by Mitchell Santner and will look to build on their 2-1 ODI series victory in India earlier in 2026. Their plans have been affected by injuries, with Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra ruled out of the entire series, prompting call-ups for Henry Nicholls and Dean Foxcroft, while Tim Seifert and Matthew Fisher will now remain with the squad for all five matches. The Black Caps still possess considerable experience through players such as Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Tom Latham, Matt Henry and Michael Bracewell, while Finn Allen and Lockie Ferguson are among those scheduled to join for the latter part of the series. With both teams combining established internationals with newer players, the five-match contest provides an important opportunity to test squad depth and combinations in New Zealand conditions.
