Kumar Kushagra

Kumar Kushagra is an Indian wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand who is regarded as one of the country's promising young batting talents. Born on 23 October 2004, he is a right-handed batter known for his attacking stroke play, quick scoring ability and confidence against both pace and spin. Kushagra progressed through Jharkhand's age-group system before making an impact in senior domestic cricket, where his performances as a middle-order batter and wicketkeeper helped him emerge as an exciting prospect.

Kushagra gained wider recognition with strong performances in domestic red-ball and limited-overs cricket, including several important innings for Jharkhand. His ability to play aggressive cricket while also building longer innings attracted attention from IPL franchises, and Delhi Capitals secured him at the 2024 IPL auction. He has also been part of India A and other representative squads, giving him opportunities to test himself against stronger opposition and continue his development at a higher level.

Primarily valued for his combination of wicketkeeping skills and powerful batting, Kushagra offers flexibility in the middle and lower order. His performances earned him further recognition in 2026 when he was selected for India A's tour of New Zealand and was later added to India's T20I squad as cover for the injured Ishan Kishan. With his aggressive batting approach, improving consistency and ability behind the stumps, Kushagra remains one of the young wicketkeeper-batters pushing for greater opportunities in Indian cricket.
