Yash Thakur

Yash Thakur is an Indian right-arm fast-medium bowler known for his ability to generate pace, hit the deck hard and operate effectively during the middle and death overs. Born on 28 December 1998 in Kolkata, West Bengal, Thakur represents Vidarbha in domestic cricket and has developed into a reliable wicket-taking option across formats. His disciplined bowling, variations and ability to handle pressure have made him a valuable member of Vidarbha’s pace attack.

Thakur gained wider recognition through his performances in Indian domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut for Lucknow Super Giants in 2023 and produced one of his most memorable performances in the 2024 season, taking a five-wicket haul against Gujarat Titans. His ability to mix slower deliveries with yorkers and hard-length balls has made him particularly useful in T20 cricket, where he has often been trusted in difficult phases of an innings.

Alongside his IPL experience, Thakur has continued to perform for Vidarbha in competitions such as the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Primarily valued as a strike bowler, he combines aggression with improving control and has shown the versatility to adapt to both red-ball and white-ball conditions. With consistent domestic performances and growing experience at the highest level of franchise cricket, Thakur remains a strong pace-bowling option in India’s domestic setup.
