Blair Tickner

Blair Tickner is a New Zealand fast bowler known for his height, pace and ability to generate steep bounce from the surface. Born on 13 October 1993 in Napier, Tickner is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who has been a consistent performer in New Zealand domestic cricket, particularly for Central Districts. His ability to hit the pitch hard and maintain an aggressive length helped him establish himself as a reliable wicket-taking option across both red-ball and limited-overs cricket.

Tickner made his international debut for New Zealand in a T20I against India in February 2019 and subsequently represented the Black Caps in ODIs and Test cricket. He made his ODI debut against the Netherlands in 2022 before earning his Test cap against England at Mount Maunganui in February 2023. Over the years, he has regularly been part of New Zealand's wider pace-bowling group, providing depth alongside the country's established fast bowlers and earning opportunities whenever injuries or workload management created openings in the national side.

Tickner's primary strengths are his natural bounce, ability to bowl at a lively pace and willingness to attack batters with short-of-a-length deliveries. He has also gained experience outside New Zealand through county cricket in England, further developing his skills in different conditions. With considerable domestic and international experience, Tickner remains a useful pace-bowling option for New Zealand, particularly when the team requires a bowler capable of extracting extra bounce and maintaining pressure through the middle phases of an innings.
